I wanted to play with size to add depth to my work, so I focused on playing with size. I was free drawing in class and I drew a man flying a kite, and it made me really happy so I decided to do a more detailed version of it. It brought back memories of the days when I would fly kites when I was younger. I really liked how it turned out, because the colors in the sky blended together really well, especially with the clouds. My favorite part to draw was the kite, because it was simplistic but detailed enough to be interesting to work on.

I like the shirt because I spent a very long time eliminating every white spot so the shirt would be an even black. I really don't like oil pastels because they are very hard to add detail with and they blend poorly. I wish I could have used colored pencils again. I would have spent less time on the shirt and a little more time on adding shading to the face, so that the main focus of the piece would pop more.
